InDesign Creation

I am currently working on an InDesign mock up for how I am going to present the Uncanny work.

Due to the nature of the topic I chose to represent - The End of the World - I want to make sure it represents this well. Which may be difficult to do, though I will endevour to try.

The final design of the mock up, will change the way it is interpreted. For example if I choose the route of using as a way to show what could happen, showing what has happend or showing the story of one group.

This is yet to be decided.

Shoot 6 - Leaving

This shoot was intended to show mild panic, the kind of things people may tae with them if the world where to end. So water, tinned & canned food, warm clothing, medical supplies and any weapons to hand.

Though I wanted to add a subtle subtext if you will. My idea was to make it look like the group where packing there vehical to leave though somthing interupted them. Also showing the death or severe injury of one of the party.

I was also going through a few techniques on Photoshop seeing which could be useful and benifical to this type of shoot.

Shoot 5 - Emergancy Broadcast Service

This shoot was similar to the previous one. Though meant to be set slightly before, possibly a few hours after the ending event. Again waiting for instruction.

Shoot 4 - Static

The idea for this shoot was to show the times leading up to the end. Showing a families or a persons supplies, ready to go. Waiting for somthing, anything to come up on the screen, some kind of instruction on what to do.

The above photograph was meant to be slightly different to the first photograph, as here I wanted to show after the family or group after nothing but the same messgae repeated over and over. So they turned to the old analogue TV, trying to find another source. Nothing but static.

Test Shoot #2

This is my second attempt at photographing the end of the world. Though it may not be much I am currently working toward more Fallout/Nuclear bunker style locations.

The idea behind this shoot was a continuation of the previous shoot. Trying to show the level of prepared-ness. Where as in the previous shoots the 'people' just got up an ran with what they had and settled in a forest and died shortly after. However in this shoot I wanted to show that someone had survived much longer and managed to take up residence in a wooden lodge/shed.

Shoot Outcome -

Here are the photographs from my first preliminary photoshoot for the Uncanny.

As said before It is based off of the end of the world, Nuclear Fallout.

I think they came out quite well and I am now excited to carry on with this project and attempt to create somthing interesting. My next stop should be an underground bunker or concrete structure.
